Reflections ARC

Hello everyone!

I’ve built a graphic novel called Reflections and I’d like to share it with you. Right now I’m just sharing 10 copies for anyone who’d like to read it and would provide a positive comment about it. If you read it and don’t have a positive comment that’s fine too :)

Here’s the back content:

Three days to finish his masterpiece.
Three days until he goes blind.
Three ghosts from his past try to take everything.

Will Edgar Paugh conquer his past or will his ghosts take more than his vision?

This is a horror story about an alcoholic glass blower who is going blind and facing his demons. Reflections is 75pgs long, in verse format and targeting an adult audience.

Here are some shots from inside the book:

I plan on publishing Reflections on my website. Before sharing with the world I am offering it here to 10 people who would be willing to read it and give me some feedback. Consider yourself a beta-tester :) Feedback can range from images to text to anything. All feedback welcome.

If interested let me know in the comments and give me an email to send the book to.

Thanks!

Let Men Die

My poem for Poetry Friday is another myth retold. This one I really enjoyed reading. The myth is from Africa and is about a chameleon and gecko who get their messages about eternal life mixed up. I hope you enjoy this social media retelling.

The Message

A notification
from Facebook.

Opening it
I see my wife share the story:
NASA Finds Alien Life.

Before I can click
I see the comment from my brother:
HOAX, this isn’t real.

I wish it was.

Alien life would change our life
our thinking
our minds
but of course it is a hoax.

We can’t have anything so amazing.

Another comment
from my sister:
No, look at the news. It’s real.

She posts a link
and I click
but a popup says I have to pay
to see the article.

Makes sense.
Big news can make big money.

But I go back
and see the next comment
from my sister’s husband’s cousin’s neighbor:
I knew it. The government kept it quiet.
with a link to another article.

We thought that as kids
but now I don’t think
the government could
cooperate to cover up something
this big.

I click the link
but the popup says I have to pay.

Back to Facebook
and my brother posts:
Hoax! Here’s the proof and
the secrets they don’t want you to know
.

I sit down.

I look out my window.

No aliens here.

Hoax it might be
but I wish I could have heard
the first message
and no other.

Doubt is a poison
that can’t be cured
even with truth.
