Automation and Focus
I’m pretty excited.
This week I popped up on Forbes website again, this time for Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence. As a kid who grew up in a little town and didn’t really use a computer until late in my college career, I’m pretty psyched to be helping people in publications like Forbes. You can see the article here: https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomtaulli/2020/03/14/robotic-process-automation-rpa-is-it-recession-proof.
At work, I’ve been focused a lot on Automation. In conjunction with my 2020 self challenge to put myself out there more, I’ve been doing these quick videos for work to help people understand automation. These videos are kind of tough for me b/c like many people I see a video like this and focus on all the things wrong. Things I say wrong, do wrong or just look wrong. But, I’m trying to make 2020 about getting better letting go of perfection.
Here are some of the automation videos we’ve done so far. They are < 5 minutes so I hope you take a moment to enjoy.
New Work In Progress (WIP)
Another 2020 thing for me is to focus on finishing things. This led me to revisit a “book” I started on my blog City of Duhr, now called On the Way to Duhr soon to probably change names yet again. I started it while working on [dis]Connection and now feel I need to finish it prior to getting back into [be]Coming.
So, as of last week-ish, [be]Coming is going to take a nap while City of Duhr works towards completion. For those not familiar with the story, the City of Duhr started as a series of poems on my blog here and then was re-discussed in another blog post here.
I’m struggling through the middle right now. The story has morphed a bit to be the tale of three people making their way through unlife. I’ll post more as drafts complete but here is an image gallery of some of the poems from the first tale: The Journey of the Lost Man. Each character has 2 stories, Their life and their journey. I feel this format is going to provide a lot of context to what happens in both stories (i.e. things that happen in the journey impact the life and vice versa). Stay tuned for more.
Thanks for swinging by! Next week I’ll be returning to Poetry Friday content so stay tuned.
