On His Back

This week, I’m thinking about a throw away project that climbed out of the trash bin and jumped onto my desk.

Have you ever had a project that you did just for fun and at the end, put it on the shelf with no interest or intent on going any further? Then, suddenly, that project climbs out of the pit of isolation you cast it into and screams, I am here and you WILL pay attention to me!

Well, that happened to me last week. I wrote a little middle grade adventure book as part of a 7-day book challenge and thought it was fun and just something to set aside. Well, this story had other plans.

Betas Needed

Now, I’m in the last edit updates and am looking for beta readers for “On His Back”. I’ll be releasing the book as Cy Borgmyn because of the heavy Artificial Intelligence involvement in the creation of this story. Here’s a quick blurb (prototype blurb :) I’ll have a better one later):

***

Sam didn’t want to save the world, only his new pet turtle. But, as Sam discovers, sometimes saving the world can come down to protecting a turtle from dangerous Shadow Faeries.

On the second anniversary of his dad’s death, Sam and his mom adopt a new pet to prepare for a bigger change in their family. When Sam finds Shelly, a strange turtle, his life is turned upside down by myth, magic and monsters. Can Sam learn to work with his mom’s boyfriend to save his turtle? Or will the Shadow Faeries capture Shelly and throw the world into eternal darkness?

***

This projects been fun and I look forward to sharing it with you all soon. If you’d like to be a beta reader, give me a shout and I’ll queue you up.

Poem this week!

A little poem this week inspired by an article about sound quality in VR.

Hear the fizzing
soda.

Feel the tickling
bubbles.

Drink the carbonation
burning.

Gasping satisfaction escaping
my throat.
